1. See the customer behind the sale.

The till tells you how much you sold that day. Yet the same total can come from very different customer behaviour. A large group visiting once and a smaller group returning several times a week may generate similar revenue while pointing to different needs.

Knowing a customer means more than recording a name or phone number. It means understanding preferences, visit patterns and the experience together. The useful question for an owner is: how can this information help me offer a better experience?

2. Start with a few meaningful questions.

Start with the last visit, visit frequency, average spend and preferred products. Assess these only through records you can associate with a customer. An anonymous order cannot tell you who someone is or reveal their full set of habits.

Do not judge a weekly coffee visitor by the same measure as someone arriving for a special dinner. A smaller bill does not mean a less valuable relationship. Regular visits, recommendations and feedback are different parts of that relationship.

3. Add the customer’s voice to the numbers.

Sales records show what happened; understanding why requires listening. A customer might stop visiting because of price, waiting time or a changed routine. Treating any one explanation as certain without feedback can lead to the wrong decision.

WifCore helps summarise written member and QR Menu guest reviews collected in WiFunnel using AI. Positive themes, areas to improve and suggested steps can be viewed together. Use the summary as a starting point and read the original reviews when a topic deserves attention.

4. Turn insight into small, concrete decisions.

Customer insight does not always call for a discount. Clarifying a frequently questioned product description, reviewing service at busy times or making a popular item easier to find are also decisions informed by customers.

Before planning a campaign, define its purpose: introducing a new item or inviting back customers who have not visited recently? You should be able to explain why the offer suits that group. The business decides on the message and how to put it into practice.

5. Protect trust and keep learning.

Explain how the information you request will improve the customer’s experience. Focus on useful details rather than collecting more than you need. Respecting communication preferences and avoiding repeated offers are part of caring for the relationship.

Set aside a short weekly review: what changed, which feedback recurred and what improvement could you try? WiFunnel helps bring information together and make sense of it. Truly knowing your customers is the daily practice of turning that knowledge into consistent service.
